My First Ten Friends on the Internet
By Artist Amy Burek, My First Ten Friends on the Internet is a flashback to the days when real-life friendships and internet friendships started to overlap and blend. Previously undigitized photographs are paired with text from Livejournal, an abandoned Yahoo email account, and the artist's college-era personal websites (post-geocities but pre-blogger).
"Using our real names on the internet is supposed to keep us honest, but in a way, the version of me behind that old username and avatar was a more authentic version of myself." Risograph printed in black and bright red inks, spiral binding. Second printing. Published by Awkward Ladies Club in Oakland, CA USA.
